The Peter Dreher Foundation

On December 25, 2015, the Peter Dreher Foundation was established as a charitable trust foundation (tax number 06470/01983) by the artist Peter Dreher. The founder wanted to achieve that his work and his collection of works of third parties, especially his former teachers, former students, former colleagues are held in one hand and made accessible to the public:

Preamble:

„The purpose of this non-profit foundation is to hold in one hand the works donated to the foundation by the founder and to be donated in the future, to make them accessible to scientific and art historical research and to promote this research, as well as to make the work of the founder accessible through exhibitions. The foundation thus promotes art and culture in the sense of the tax regulations.“

In 2021, the binding information of the tax office made it possible to merge the estate of the artist, who died on February 18, 2020, with the already existing trust foundation.

Since 2015, the foundation has been involved with exhibitions and publications on Peter Dreher's work, which are closely related to the foundation's collection of paintings. The work is made accessible to the public through exhibitions in Germany and abroad and through cooperation with museums (e.g. Kolumba Museum Cologne) and collections (e.g. Pinault Fondation).

In addition to the presentation of the work and the collection, the main focus is now on the processing of the archive and the publication of the contexts of his pictures to the literature and the visual arts of his time, which is appropriate to the significance of the work.
